Architecture. When correctly selected, timbers are full of character, wonderfully tactile in nature and possess the ability to harmonise with almost any environment. Timber is elemental, ingrained within the human psyche, and utterly honest. In short people get passionate about timber.

We are pleased to introduce the new Senses Hardwood Timber Rainscreen. The key principles of the development of the system are as follows.:-

  • It is a totally new and innovative use of a traditional product.

In almost every case, timber when used as a cladding material predominates in long lengths. Continued wetting and drying, can result in considerable distortion. In an attempt to limit this movement, cladding planks are screwed or nailed into place, often making use of oversized holes and unattractive oversized washers.

For the first time, the "Senses timber rainscreen cladding solution", combines short, tightly toleranced plank lengths, with the precision and sophistication offered by our renowned Alphaton terracotta fixing system.

The key criteria is that it allows each individual plank to move, whilst being securely restrained into position.

  • Every single piece of timber that James and Taylor process for use, within the Senses range, will be sourced from reputable, meticulously managed, genuinely sustainable forests. These are predominantly situated in South America.
